🚇 Metro Merge

You are the metro dispatcher. Two trains on the same line can never share a platform — merge them, assemble longer consists, and chase the legendary 2048-car train.

How to Play

Use the arrow keys on desktop or swipe on mobile — every car slides in the same direction.
When two cars with the same number collide, they merge into one with double the number and your mileage (score) grows.
The line starts as a 4×4 depot. Hit 600 mileage and District 5 opens (5×5); hit 3,000 and District 6 opens (6×6) — more room, but two condemned lots permanently block cells.
4-trains arrive more often as you grow (8% at the start, up to 35% in the outer districts), so the grid tightens instead of getting easier.
Time and move count are tracked live. The run ends when the depot is full with no adjacent match — best mileage is saved on this device and sent to the city leaderboard.

Dispatcher Strategy

Pick a corner and stay loyal to it. Strong players anchor their longest consist in one corner and arrange numbers in a descending "snake".
Avoid the fourth direction. Moving only left and down keeps the snake almost impossible to break by accident.
Think before you slide. One careless swipe can demolish a formation that took twenty moves to build.
Digest small cars early. Stray 2s and 4s in the middle of the board are what jam the network.
Going for 2048? Keep two rows clear so your big trains have room to maneuver — that's the difference between a Shift Dispatcher and a Chief Dispatcher.
